Reflection number one
It is good thing to know the history of the church. I see that in the first discussion, i learn how the church was form after Jesus Death. before Jesus died he said to Peter: "Upon this rock I will Build my church" and it was fulfilled from the death of Jesus Christ to the Pentecost. The Holy Spirit come to the Apostles and they speak the gospel. In the time of Acts the disciples of Jesus Christ preach the good news to the people in Jerusalem.
In our class, we discuss how the church started. It is important to know the information about the Church and the life of the missionaries in the New Testament. The Holy Spirit is upon those disciple and their so bold in teaching the word of God. God also called Paul to preach the gospel to the Gentiles. God is at work in teaching. He is convicting people to respond to the message of the Apostles. We also discuss the Jerusalem counsel and fall of Jerusalem. During there are heresy going on, how much now. I need to teach what is the truth in the Bible just like what the Apostle is doing.
It is good to know how they get the canon of the Bible. The People who are the father of the Church. Those who start evangelizing. And how the gospel goes to us. They are good in preaching that and also put their whole trust in God even if there are many people persecuted them. It cost their lives. Even to that, the gospel did not end there. God continue to used people to preach His words. We need to thank God for it, because the gospel come to us today. Without them, we cannot know it. we will not be saved.
I would definitely agree!!! To learn and know about church history is very important because it gives us a better view of how and where everything started. And it will help us not to condemn other churches now, and still have a hope that along the long run they will come to the point of realizing and going back to what the Bible says and proclaim it as true. It's never too late and never too impossible for God to use people to reveal and stand for what is true even in the most impossible religious group we could ever think of. Continue to learn, absorbed, and put in heart the learnings that you have now. Godbless :-)
